What I Played in December 2025

It’s time for another month-in-review! From now on, I think I’m gonna reduce the scope of these posts so they don’t get out-of-hand and I get burned out. Hopefully it’s one way I can catch up on these posts… Anyway, here are the games I played in December 2025, in no particular order.

Minecraft Beta 1.7.3

Believe it or not, this relates to the NSO Playtest Program.

My playtest pals and I were yearning for this game as usual. One idea that we’ve been teetering around was to open a Minecraft server to get our playtest fix; it’s another voxel-based game and we can work together to achieve goals. And it’s Minecraft, everyone owns and loves Minecraft. Thus, we opened a server, with the twist that we would be playing an old beta version of Minecraft. It’s surprisingly a lot of fun! There’s something fascinating about playing this stripped down version of Minecraft that’s lacking so much yet you feel the soul there (even if the lack of QoL features was irritating). I also had a lot of fun spending time and getting closer with my fellow yearners as we mined together and made builds related to the Playtest. We started building the launch pad found in the planetary blocks! And over the following weeks we took the time every now and then to mine tons of gold, as we decided we wanted to build it out of real gold. It’s been honestly such a great experience.

Kirby Air Riders

I kept Ricking out and terrorizing everyone in City Trial. It’s so much fun. Also I started to be on the lookout for Marie Splatoon machines on the in-game marketplace and social media, and after finding a couple I put together a Marage (Marie Garage). This game’s pretty epic, what can I say.

Tomodachi Life

My friends and I continued playing our collective save file. We added the Dewdroplings, a group of 5 Miis named some variation of “Dewdrop” all based on the same idea of a bad Splatoon player. Mr. Pringles started dating Cooking Mama. Y’know, the usual stuff.

Splatoon 3

There was a Big Run this month. I wasn’t really feeling it so I wasn’t planning on playing it much, aaaaaand… I got gold first try LMAO. How convenient. There was also a Curling Bomb challenge (which I never played before), that was a hilarious rotation.

Tetris 99

Played more of this game of course. A Kirby Air Riders theme was released, but I don’t like it very much. It feels like I’m playing in light mode due to the white background and the poor contrast with the pieces. The rest of the theme is fine though, the texture and sfx picks were pretty neat and the music choices were excellent!

Clone Hero
